Dan Thorogood

President

Dan Thorogood is the President and CEO of Seabulk and a VP of SEACOR. He is responsible for SEACOR's marine transportation, harbor towing, short-sea shipping, and logistics investments. He is also the Chairman of Trailer Bridge Inc. Prior to commencing his current role in 2009, Mr. Thorogood served in SEACOR'S international offshore marine services division on operational and commercial assignments before moving to SEACOR's corporate group in a business development capacity. He has experience supporting company re-organizations and M&A activities. Mr. Thorogood obtained a bachelor's degree from University College, London.

Mike Lowry is the VP of HR and Labor Relations for Seabulk and also supports SEACOR’s corporate HR function. He joined SEACOR in 2008 and oversees Labor Relations, Human Resources, and Benefits. He has over 20 years of experience in HR, including managing labor union agreements in the maritime industry and overseeing and implementing HR compliance.

Mr. Lowry holds the title Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) from the HR Certification Institute and Senior Certified Professional (SCP) from the Society for Human Resources Management. Mr. Lowry obtained a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and a master’s degree from Florida International University.

Ron Miller is the Controller for Seabulk and brings over 30 years of professional experience to his role in overseeing and providing leadership for financial activities including financial reporting, financial planning and analysis for multiple businesses and joint ventures. He has experience in M&A, including the integration of accounting protocols and processes. Prior to joining Seabulk in 2003, Mr. Miller worked as an Assistant Controller for RPM International Inc. in New Jersey. Mr. Miller has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Messiah College.

Ramon Pitter joined Seabulk in 2016 as the VP of Business Development. Mr. Pitter overseas daily commercial activities for Port Services, including pricing and contract negotiation as well as business development activity for Seabulk as a whole.

Prior to his experience at Seabulk, Mr. Pitter was the head of Corporate Development / M&A at the NCB Group. He has prior experience in Strategy, Corporate Development, and Investment Banking. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Jorge Del Rey is the VP of Commercial Management for the Ocean Transportation group where he is responsible for the group’s commercial activities relating to tanker and dry bulk vessel chartering and business development.

Previously, he served as a marine engineer at ConocoPhillips (Polar Tankers), before joining Seabulk in 2009 in a technical shore-side role. Mr. Del Rey holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime Academy.

VP, Fleet

Rick Groen is the Vice President, Fleet for Seabulk and is responsible for all vessel management services, including budgetary oversight, dry-dockings, crew management, and Seabulk’s Goal Zero philosophy. Previously, Mr. Groen was employed by SMIT International of the Netherlands and joined SEACOR in 2001.Prior to his current position, he served in a variety of operational roles at SEACOR Holding’s former offshore marine services division. He attended the Maritime Academy Holland and is a certified Dutch Master Mariner and an Unlimited DP Operator.

Arthur T. (“Tom”) Denning

VP, Engineering

Tom Denning is VP of Engineering for Seabulk. He joined the company in 1986 as a vessel superintendent and became project manager for the construction of a forward azimuth drive tractor tug in 1995. Since that time, he has served as project manager for construction of more than 60 vessels, crew boats and tankers. Prior to Seabulk, Mr. Denning worked at Nelson & Associates as a marine surveyor, consultant, and vessel operator, and at Ingall’s Shipbuilding as a test engineer on nuclear submarines. He is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy with a degree in marine engineering.
